Our sensor and detector service works alongside your personal alarm service and provides additional reassurance, helping you to live safely in the home you love.
The sensors connect to your personal alarm base unit and if an issue is detected, signal to you and our 24/7 response team who will take appropriate action.
You can add the sensors to your personal alarm service whenever you want. Once purchased, it costs just 92p per week for the 24 hour monitoring service for any number of sensors. †
Our sensor and detector service provides additional support and peace of mind for you and your family. Each works remotely and they are easy to set-up.
When the sensors are triggered, they call our 24 hour response centre who will contact you through the personal alarm unit. If we receive no response from you, for example if you cannot hear the alarm or are not at home, we will still take action. An activated alarm is never ignored.
Our sensors and detector service is particularly useful if you:
To add a sensor to your personal alarm service package, simply call us on 0800 085 7371. We are happy to help or answer any queries you may have.
The sensors are only available to order by phone.
Our monitored smoke detector gives immediate warning of something as trivial as overcooked toast or as serious as an outbreak of fire, so action can be taken to protect you and your home.
If activated it sounds an alarm and a red light will flash just like a standard smoke detector. It also calls through to our response team who will quickly assess the situation and offer advice.
They will also take action if it is activated and you’re not at home or can't respond, so you can be sure the alarm won’t be ignored.
The smoke detector has:
The smoke detector is £58.33 to buy and then 92p per week for the 24 hour monitoring service for any number of sensors. There is a £69 installation charge if fitted separately to your personal alarm. †
A tap left running by mistake can quickly cause serious water damage to your home. Positioned on the floor below sinks and baths the flood detector gives early warning of potential floods.
If activated it calls through to our response team who will quickly assess the situation and offer advice. We will know from our records which detector has been activated and its position. If necessary, they will contact a chosen keyholder on your behalf.
The flood detector sensor has :
The flood detector is £49.99 to buy and then 92p per week for the 24 hour monitoring service for any number of sensors. There is a £69 installation charge if fitted separately to your personal alarm. †
It’s easy not to notice a drop in room temperature, particularly during the winter months. Cold is felt less as you get older and your ability to control and regulate body temperature is reduced. This makes you more susceptible to the cold and coupled with any long-term health conditions you may have, puts you at risk of hypothermia.
Equally important is being aware of a sudden rise in temperature. This could be caused by forgetting you have left a pan on the cooker, and if left undetected may escalate to a fire.
If triggered, the temperature extreme sensor sounds to alert you, and sends a signal remotely through to our team who will quickly assess the situation and offer advice. They may prompt you or your relatives to check your heating appliances to make sure they haven't broken down, or that a door isn’t left open, before your home becomes too cold.
The temperature extreme sensor:
The temperature extreme sensor is £74.99 to buy and then 92p per week for the 24 hour monitoring service for any number of sensors. There is a £69 installation charge if fitted separately to your personal alarm. †
Carbon monoxide is a potentially lethal gas emitted by faulty gas and solid fuel appliances such as boilers or fires and is odourless, colourless and tasteless. This not only makes it very difficult to detect but also extremely dangerous.
If a presence of carbon monoxide is detected, the detector sounds an alert and remotely triggers a call to our team who will arrange the most appropriate help and offer advice.
The carbon monoxide detector has:
The carbon monoxide sensor is £99.99 to buy and then 92p per week for the 24 hour monitoring service for any number of sensors. There is a £69 installation charge if fitted separately to your personal alarm. †

You just need our personal alarm service because the sensors send a remote signal to the personal alarm base unit when an issue is detected so our response centre is contacted. Find out more about our personal alarms.
Simply call 0800 085 7371 to let us know which sensors you would like. The sensors are only available to order by phone.
No, there is no wiring required because the sensors automatically send a remote call to the personal alarm base unit, which then contacts the response centre.
Each home sensor is individually priced. There is no additional installation charge if fitted with your personal alarm, or a £69 charge will apply if fitted separately. The installation charge covers fitting multiple sensors in one visit. You are responsible for the maintenance of your sensors, or we can come and check them for £69, if you prefer. †
If you change your mind, simply give us a call. You have the right to cancel within 14 days of purchase.
The sensors have self-test and low battery report features so there is no need to be concerned about the battery life. As a guide, the smoke detector has a 7 - 10 year battery life. The flood detector has a 5 year battery life. The temperature extreme sensor has a 3 year battery life and the carbon monoxide has a 3 - 5 year battery life.
It can be difficult to know when to talk to your parents about plans for their future. Read our guide to help you have a relaxed discussion around the care and support they would prefer.
