Taking Care of the future

The UK telecommunications infrastructure is set to upgrade its lines from analogue to digital by 2025. All analogue telephony services will be switched off in order to complete this transition, so services that rely on analogue telephony – such as telecare – will need to be upgraded to ensure continuity to vulnerable users.

This transition, and the need to support an ever-increasing ageing population, poses challenges for Local Authorities.

PPP Taking Care hosted a free workshop for selected Local Authorities at The Gherkin, one of London’s most iconic landmarks. We shared insights into how technology-enabled care can help Local Authorities support the independent elderly. Attendees learnt how Local Authorities can embrace technology-enabled care at an event designed to help prepare for the changing face of social care.
